An update on the madder grown and dyed from the garden. As some of you may know, the roots were harvested a little earlier than ideal 😬, but still produced a surprisingly deep colour, reaching a warm coral rather than the rich reds I had hoped for

Tagetes patula ‘burning embers’ (I think), in the gardens at Arundel Castle. I noticed the colour first - that deep, glowing orange. Then I discovered it’s a dye plant. No wonder I was drawn to it.
